I am an expert on the design of workplace lactation space and policies. I hold a Masters of Public Health from University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelors in Anthropology from Temple University. I pumped for my two boys as a full-time worker and part-time student for over 18 months in total and have talked with scores of women about their experiences with trying to reach their breastfeeding goals. Because of these experiences, I understand many of the challenges women face balancing breastfeeding with employment and know what features really matter to them. My background in public health and research on lactation programs in a variety of settings has provided me a comprehensive knowledge of solutions that work and that telegraph an environment that values women. I believe in the potential of Breastfeeding Friendly Workplaces to both support the health of families and create value for businesses. My approach is based on a socio-ecological framework of breastfeeding support, which includes creating supportive physical, social, and policy environments. I am passionate about bringing my knowledge and skills to understanding clients' unique needs, capacity, and values to facilitate feasible and impactful changes.
